Ladies and Gentlemen,

Another artistic season at the Polish Royal Opera has ended with the solemn performance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s famous Requiem in the marvellous neo-Gothic church in Policzna. We would like to thank our dear patrons for joining us at all the events prepared by our institution – both those organized live, with the participation of the audience, as well as those made available for you online.

This past year has been truly eventful. During the In Tempore Regum Festival (Music in the Times of Kings) in September 2020, we presented to you a little-known but highly interesting repertoire that used to be performed in the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Another event that also took place at the time was Noverre en action, the first ballet premiere in the history of our institution. For the past few weeks, the ravishing halls of the Royal Theater and the Palace on the Isle at the Royal Łazienki Museum were filled with the joyful atmosphere of the summer Festival of the Polish Royal Opera, which has already become a staple of the July calendar of artistic events in the capital. This year, it was entirely devoted to the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

We are glad that, despite the constantly changing epidemiological situation and the ensuing restrictions, we were still able to stage the premieres of excellent operas: LA FINTA GIARDINIERA / WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART, JOB (HIOB) / KRZESIMIR DĘBSKI and THE RAPE OF LUCRETIA / BENJAMIN BRITTEN. You were also invited to participate in a number of premiere concerts performed by the soloists and ensembles of the Polish Royal Opera and invited guests.

We would like to express our gratitude to all Artists and Employees of our institution responsible for the organization and preparation of performances and concerts. Realizing our ambitious programme would also be impossible without the support of our sponsors. We would therefore like to thank the Grupa PZU and Grupa LOTOS – the honorary Patrons of the Polish Royal Opera, PGNiG TERMIKA – the Sponsor of the Polish Royal Opera, as well as our Partners: the Royal Łazienki Museum, the Royal Castle in Warsaw, as well as the companies Lidex, Druk-4you and SKM. We would also like to thank all our Media Patrons.

We look forward to meeting our dear audience again soon. In the meantime, we wish you all peaceful and safe holidays.

We’ll be seeing you at the Polish Royal Opera in the new season 2021/2022.
