Boots and trainers, slippers and wellies. Do you know them all? We’ll explore where a shoe has a toe and where it has a tongue – and see if it has a story to tell us. We’ll take a closer look at the wonderful footwear borrowed from the storerooms of the Polish Royal Opera and try to guess which characters might have worn them.
We’ll also hear the story of Puss in Boots, or perhaps a molly without boots? The sounds of Baroque instruments will transport us back to the time when this story was created, showing how music shapes the narrative.
The event for children Why Does the Puss Wear Boots? is inspired by the latest premiere at the Polish Royal Opera, HI§TORY.
In HI§TORY, the shoes – or rather the lack of shoes – of the main character hold special meaning. We meet on the set of the premiere, which features a delicate ballet floor, so we invite you to join us on stage in… socks.
