Meeting with THE VIOLIN TEAM. STRINGS, BRIDGES, SCREWS, AND PEGS / WORKSHOP FOR SCHOOL GROUPS (9-13 y.o.)

9 October 2026, Friday
Time 10:00
Izabelin Cultural Center, Matejki 21

Why do violins have decorative curls, and where is their “soul” hidden? What is rosin for, and can a cello be muted? Why doesn’t a double bass have fine tuners, and can a viola ever “play first fiddle”?
We will answer these and many other questions during a workshop dedicated to string instruments. We’ll touch a real instrument, try tightening its strings, tuning it, and preparing the bow… and perhaps even come up with a new way of producing sound!
We’ll listen to how the violin, viola, cello, and double bass sound together, recall a few well-known opera melodies, and guess which instrument can imitate the human voice.

The workshop is intended for groups of children aged 9 to 13.
