The Polish Royal Opera is proud to join the e-celebrations of the 201st anniversary of the birth of Stanisław Moniuszko organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. We would like to invite all music lovers to take part in the Majówka z Moniuszką (“Long Weekend with Moniuszko”), our action that will offer you many interesting activities. On Sunday, May 3rd at 19.00, on the YouTube channel of the Polish Royal Opera the spectacle ŚPIEWNIK DOMOWY (“Songbook for Home”) directed by Andrzej Strzelecki will be made available. The retransmission will be available till Sunday, May 10th,
19:00.
The premiere of the performance was held in November 2009 in the Royal Theatre in the Royal Łazienki Museum in Warsaw. The spectacle is a reference to the 19th century tradition of playing and listening to piano music at home. The programme covers both popular melodies and less-known songs. Light-hearted, catchy compositions create an intriguing, wondrous love story.
