ORLEN continues its support for the Polish Royal Opera, remaining the patron of both the “Opera on the Tour” program and the educational initiative “Opera Workshops”. This partnership enables the implementation of projects that promote high culture across various regions of Poland and foster appreciation for classical music among our younger audiences.
The agreement between ORLEN and the Polish Royal Opera continues a collaboration initiated in 2024 and will remain in effect until the end of 2026. ORLEN has once again become the patron of the “Opera on Tour” concert series, whose aim is to promote high culture in different parts of Poland, especially in areas with limited access to professional theatres. The project allows wider audiences to experience opera performances of the highest artistic standard.
“We have been a Patron of the Polish Royal Opera since 2024 and are proud to support its artistic and educational projects. We are particularly close to initiatives aimed at children and young people – ‘Opera Workshops’ and ‘Opera on Tour’. We believe these projects will help educate a new generation of artists and, certainly, future lovers of the arts. We also give audiences a glimpse behind the scenes of how performances are created, which is what audiences often find most fascinating. We feel that the Polish Royal Opera’s projects effectively encourage engagement with opera and play an important culture-forming role,” states Marlena Jezierska, CMO of the ORLEN Office for Culture and Science Sponsorship.
ORLEN is also the patron of the family-oriented educational initiative “Opera Workshops,” under which artists of the Polish Royal Opera visit local cultural centres to conduct music workshops.
“I am very pleased and proud that ORLEN is once again our Patron – the Patron of ‘Opera on Tour’ and of our educational projects from the ‘Opera Workshops’ series. These are flagship projects of our institution, which we consider especially important. Thanks to ‘Opera on Tour,’ our performances and concerts can inspire audiences throughout Poland – this season alone, we will visit, among other places, Gdańsk, Nieporęt, and Pokój near Opole. The ‘Opera Workshops’ series, in turn, constitutes our institution’s contribution to cultural education. We are delighted that we can rely on ORLEN’s support in these extremely important areas,” says Magdalena Kaczorowska, General Manager of the Polish Royal Opera.
The Polish Royal Opera began its activity on the 1st of August 2017 as a new state cultural institution. Its work is based on three pillars. The first consists of new productions of early operas, especially from the Baroque and Classical periods. The second pillar involves restoring to the stage the rich and often forgotten repertoire of Polish music – including operatic, vocal, and instrumental works. Complementing the Opera’s artistic activity is its programme of concerts, presented not only on the main stage of the Royal Theatre in Warsaw’s Royal Łazienki Park, but also in touring formats.
One of the Polish Royal Opera’s priority missions is the OPERA ON TOUR program, whose main goal is to popularize high culture throughout Poland. Since 2024, the institution has also been running the educational event series OPERA WORKSHOPS, aimed primarily at children and young people, introducing participants to opera as a synthesis of the arts.
