Where do ideas come from? From the head, of course. But for them to get there, you need something magical: inspiration. It’s a spark that ignites our imagination and allows us to be creative. It can be a fairy tale we read, a landscape seen through a window, or an exotic scent smelled on a long journey. You can also be inspired by an ordinary moment with someone close, a feeling, or a melody. During the workshop, you will learn what inspired two French composers – Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel, for whom imagination was particularly important. Both also created program pieces, that is, pieces that illustrate something and tell a story. Their music, in turn, inspired Marek Zamojski to create visualizations that will appear when we listen to fragments of the pieces Children’s Corner and Ma Mère l’Oye – can you guess what they represent? How far will our imagination take us? The sounds of the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn, along with the storytelling, may inspire us to create a shared “image of imagination.”
The workshops are intended for children aged 6 and over.
