The Old Orangery in the Royal Łazienki Museum in Warsaw

Thanks to it, we can instantly recognize the character appearing on stage. Witch, queen, knight, or dragon? The costume tells you right away. It is one of the most captivating and exciting elements of an opera production – especially when seen up close…
During the workshop, we will explore the most fascinating costumes from productions of the Polish Royal Opera, feel the fabrics they are made from, and discover their role in the stage performance together. Our special guest will be Iwona Kulma, an experienced wardrobe assistant who works on our productions daily. She will reveal the secrets of her profession and give a demonstration of the intricate art of costume dressing. In the second part of the event, participants will create their own costume designs using a collage technique with fabrics provided by the Opera’s costume workshop.
Please note: Scissors and glue will be used during the workshop.
The workshop is intended for children aged seven and older.
