MAGDALENA KACZOROWSKA APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF THE POLISH ROYAL OPERA

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is our great pleasure to announce that on the 23rd of July 2024, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Hanna Wróblewska, appointed Magdalena Kaczorowska to the position of director of the Polish Royal Opera. Her three-year term will begin on the 1st of September 2024.

Magdalena Kaczorowska is an experienced manager of culture, a graduate of the Faculty of Composition and Music Theory of the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw.

She has been associated with the Polish Royal Opera since the institution’s inception, first as head of the Department of Organization of Artistic Work, and, from June 2019, as Deputy Director of Andrzej Klimczak.

She has collaborated with many renowned soloists, singers, instrumentalists, and conductors, including Krzysztof Penderecki, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Paul Eswood, Maximiano Valdés, Łukasz Borowicz, outstanding composers such as Zygmunt Krauze and Michał Dobrzyński, as well as directors and set designers – including Georgio Madia, Margo Zalite, Ryszard Peryt, Krystyna Janda, and Jarosław Kilian.

She participated in numerous festival projects, such as the Armel Opera Festival (Hungary), Parnü Opera Days (Estonia), the International Festival of Contemporary Music “Warsaw Autumn”, and the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival.

She has worked in managerial positions at the Warsaw Chamber Opera and the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk, among others. She is an active member of the Conference of Musical and Opera Theater Directors and the Association of Theater Directors.
