Ladies and Gentlemen,
On Sunday, the 24th of July, the 5th Festival of the Polish Royal Opera – Polish Music came to a close. Our annual summer music festival opened with the premiere of Zygmunt Krauze’s Night of the Ravens commissioned by the Polish Royal Opera to a libretto by Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk, inspired by the extraordinary poetry of the Polish national bard Adam Mickiewicz. With this special event, we celebrated the Year of Polish Romanticism, announced by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland 200 years after the publication of Adam Mickiewicz’s Ballades and Romances.
During the subsequent musical evenings, we heard a variety of works by Polish artists – old and new, well-known and unjustly forgotten. We are glad that all the events – both dramatic performances and concerts – enjoyed the interest and recognition of the audience. We would like to thank the viewers for all meetings with our Artists and, above all, with the beautiful music in the charming venues of the Stanisławowski Theater and the Palace on the Island in the Royal Łazienki Museum, and the Royal Castle. We invite you to watch the photo accounts from selected events in the GALLERY section.
We would also like to express our gratitude to the web portal ONET, which has assumed the media patronage of the Festival, as well as to Primavera – the partner of the event.
