Ladies and Gentlemen,
The last performance of the 5th Festival of the Polish Royal Opera – Polish Music concluded the artistic season 2021/2022. We would like to thank you for your trust and participation in all one hundred and three performances and concerts staged this season.
The last twelve months were full of important events. There were two premieres of operas commissioned by our institution by outstanding Polish composers – Tomasz Opałka’s Ars moriendi in concert version and Zygmunt Krauze’s Night of the Ravens. With the world premiere of this last piece, we celebrated the Year of Polish Romanticism established by the Seym of the Republic of Poland. Earlier, other stage works prepared at the Polish Royal Opera also had their premieres. The September Baroque Festival was inaugurated by Georg Friedrich Handel’s Rinaldo, and in the months that followed we enjoyed new stagings of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Claudio Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea. There was also a premiere of the performance Non omnis moriar, and, for the first time, as many as 34 concert programs were heard. A special celebration of Polish early music was the 2nd Festival IN TEMPORE REGUM. Music in the Time of Kings, when we recalled rarely performed compositions by old masters, which in the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries added splendor to celebrations at Polish courts and churches.
We are proud that the music performed by our outstanding Artists and invited Guests could resound not only in Warsaw, but also in Gdańsk, Krasiczyn, Sanok, Sandomierz, Lubartów, and in the picturesque Pärnu in Estonia. Packed halls and enthusiastic reactions of the audience confirm our conviction of the importance of the mission of opera on tour.
We would like to express our appreciation to all Artists and Employees of our institution responsible for the organization and preparation of performances and concerts. We give thanks to the benefactors who made these artistic plans possible: the PZU Group – the Patron of the Polish Royal Opera, our Partners, and Media Patrons.
Today we invite you to September events, including the 2nd BAROQUE FESTIVAL OF THE POLISH ROYAL OPERA – MONTEVERDI. Tickets are now available in the REPERTOIRE tab and on the ewejsciowki.pl web portal. Meanwhile, we wish you all peaceful and safe holidays.
We hope to see you at the Polish Royal Opera in the new season 2022/2023!
