Ladies and Gentlemen,
The e-celebrations of the 201st anniversary of the birth of Stanisław Moniuszko organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage have come to pass. The Polish Royal Opera together with other illustrious institutions took active part in the preparations of the programme for this beautiful May celebrations of Polish music. We are happy that concerts and other activities for children, prepared by our institution under the title Long Weekend with Moniuszko have met with your interest and approval.
An additional rank for this year’s celebration was given by the interview with the great-great-granddaughter of the composer, Mrs. Elżbieta Stanisława A. Janowska-Moniuszko, who in her personal memories brought closer the figure of great-great-grandfather Stanisław.
Recently, the anniversary has also become an opportunity for a symbolic summary by the Vice President of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Prof. Piotr Gliński of the last year’s celebrations of the Year of Stanisław Moniuszko. On page www.kultura.gov.pl a multimedia report was presented, summing up the activities in the Jubilee Year of the Composer, prepared jointly by the Polish Music Publishing, the Polish National Opera, and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
