Ladies and Gentlemen,
The storm of applause after the Friday performance of L’INCORONAZIONE DI POPPEA crowned the 2nd BAROQUE FESTIVAL OF THE POLISH ROYAL OPERA – MONTEVERDI. We would like to thank you for your participation in all events, and to the outstanding Artists and Production Staff for the opportunity to experience perfect Beauty.
During the six evenings in September, we presented a wide range of genres cultivated by the divine Claudio. The selected madrigals delighted the audience during the premiere performance of SÌ DOLCE È’L TORMENTO directed by Ryszard Maciej Nyczka. Performances of the famous operas by Monteverdi prepared by the Polish Royal Opera were also met with great enthusiasm. We are glad that we were able to discover, together with you – the audience members, the richness of symbolism hidden in L’ORFEO and find new meanings in L’INCORONAZIONE DI POPPEA. The concert LAUDATE DOMINUM was also an extraordinary spiritual and artistic experience. The depth of the message of religious works was strengthened by the baroque interior of St. Anna’s church in the Warsaw Old Town.
