Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Polish Royal Opera finished its 2019/2020 artistic season by giving a concert performance of IL BARPIERE DI SIVIGLIA. It was the first season directed by Andrzej Klimczak. Despite the pandemic, present since March, which has particularly affected the artistic community all over Poland, we have managed to organize a number of events for you – both live and online.

We very fondly recall the first rendition of September Music of the Kings of Poland Festival, aimed at the popularization of extraordinarily beautiful Polish early music. We take this opportunity to invite you today to watch the continuation of this idea – this year’s autumn festival, titled In Tempore Regum (Music of the Time of Kings).

The 2019/2020 season at the Polish Royal Opera resulted in 5 new opera premieres: DIDO AND AENEAS / HENRY PURCELL, ŚPIEWNIK DOMOWY / STANISŁAW MONIUSZKO , IL BARBIERE/ DI SIVIGLIA / GIOACCHINO ROSSINI, RODELINDA / GEORG FRIEDRICH HAENDEL, LA SERVA PADRONA / GIOVANNI BATTISTA PREGOLESI. You could also witness a number of premiere concerts with the participation of the Polish Royal Opera’s Artists as well as guest performers, including Marcin Zdunik, an eminent celloist, or Kacper Szelążek, a young and exceptionally talented countertenor.

As soon as live events were again made possible, we invited you to the Royal Theatre at the Royal Łazienki Museum for a series of DA CAMERA concerts and the first – after reopening – opera premiere in Poland (La serva padrona).

We would like to thank our dear and loyal Audience for their presence at performances and concerts, as well as their interest in many online events. Words of appreciation should also go to our Artists and all Employees involved in the organisation of the artistic creations of our institution. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our benefactors: PZU Group – Patron of the Polish Royal Opera and Lotos Group – sponsor of one of this year’s premieres, and to our other partners – Royal Łazienki Museum, Warsaw Royal Castle, Lidex. We would also like to thank all our Media Sponsors.

We wish you a peaceful and safe holiday.

See you at the Polish Royal Opera in the new 2020/2021 season!
