Ladies and Gentlemen,
This coming Saturday, the 12th of December 2020 at 19:00 an extraordinary concert O MAGNUM MYSTERIUM, which is sure to fill you with the spirit of the upcoming Christmas holidays, will be made available free of charge on the YouTube channel of the Polish Royal Opera. We will hear rarely performed atmospheric compositions by Benjamin Britten, John Tavener, Charles Parry and Francis Poulenc, interpreted by the Chorus of the Polish Royal Opera, conducted by Lilianna Krych.
The recording will be available only until 20:00 on Sunday, the 13th of December 2020.
Magnum Mysterium – the great mystery of God’s incarnation… Twentieth-century choral repertoire abounds in works relating to this topic. The collaborative sound of human voices perfectly reflects the complexity of emotions accompanying the extraordinary Christmas night – hope and uncertainty, joy and great amazement. We hope that this unique concert, prepared by our artists especially for the Advent season, will allow you to forget the worries of everyday life, even if just for a brief moment.
