Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Polish Royal Opera is happy to invite you to all our events in the cycle JULY DA CAMERA. This summer, we prepared a real chamber music feast for you.

On 4 and 11 July we will host premiere stagings of LA SERVA PADRONA by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi. At the turn of the 1730s and 1740s this small work conquered stages in entire Italy. Since then, its fame spread all over the world, and the light humour, finesse in the musical characteristics of the protagonists, and the beautiful melody enchant subsequent generations of music lovers.

On Friday, 17 June, the Artists of the Polish Royal Opera will perform the concert version of the opera RODELINDA by Georg Friedrich Handel, and on 25 June – also in concert version – IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA (The Barber of Seville) by Gioacchino Rossini. Both premiered in the previous season and met with great approval of the audience.

Those who favour instrumental music are kindly invited to the three concerts that will be held on 19 July as part of the #PalaceDay action. The Old Orangery will be filled with chamber music by the composers of the First Viennese School performed by the musicians of the Orchestra of the Polish Royal Opera. First, at noon, the guests will listen to Divertimento in B-flat major KV 240 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Then, at 13:00, the audience will have an opportunity to listen to the finesse of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Trio in C major op. 87., and an hour later to smile while listening to Mozart’s Divertimento for Two Horns and String Quartet KV 522 – after all, this work is called A musical joke not without reasons.

See you in the Royal Theatre!
