Soprano. Graduate of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, where she studied at the Vocal Faculty under the tutelage of Prof. Christian Elssner. She further perfected her vocal skills during master courses taught by Prof. Eva Blahova, Renata Scotto, and Claudio Desderi.
Between 2005 and 2017 she was associated with the Warsaw Chamber Opera. She’s also appeared on stage at the Cracow Opera, the Baltic Opera, the Grand Theatre in Poznań, the Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, the Latvian National Opera in Riga, the National Theatre in Brno, and the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman.
Her repertoire includes leading parts in operas by W. A Mozart, such as: Countess Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte and Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito, as well as Cleopatra in Handel’s Giulio Caesare, Agathe in Weber’s The Marksman, Tatiana in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Neddy in Pagliacci by Leoncavallo, Halka in the Vilnius version of Moniuszko’s opera, the Marchesa del Poggio in Verdi’s Un giorno di regno, Alice Ford in Falstaff and Margherita in Mefistofele by Arrigo Boito, and the title Rusalka in Dvořak’s opera.
The artist performs in Poland and abroad, collaborating with such esteemed conductors as Jiří Bělohlávek, Kai Bumann, Tomáš Hanus, José Maria Florencio, Robin Ticciati, Andriy Yurkevych, Jacek Kaspszyk, Michał Klauza, Roman Kofman, Wojciech Rajski, Helmuth Rilling, Andrzej Straszyński, Tadeusz Strugała, Tadeusz Wojciechowski.
Wierzbicka is a laureate of numerous prestigious awards from various international vocal competitions. Her most important successes include the winning of the 9th Ottavio Ziino International Competition in Rome (2010), the 3rd prize at the Antonin Dvořak International Singing Competition in Karlove Vary (2001), and the 2nd prize and the special prize at the Mikulaš Schneider-Trnavski International Vocal Competition in Trnava (2004). She is also a finalist of the International Adam Didur Opera Singers’ Competition, as well as the semi-finalist of the Francisco Viñas International Singing Contest in Barcelona, and the Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition in San Marino.
She is a soloist at the Polish Royal Opera.
