We will meet at the Royal Theatre on the set for the opera ACIS AND GALATEA, created by the famous book illustrator Marianna Oklejak. We will take a closer look at the colorful, flat, hand-painted elements and compare them with the drawings and descriptions from the original project. We will discover the secrets of assembling the movable and immovable parts of the decorations and see what the batten is used for. Together, we will consider what scenography is and what functions it can fulfill, and we will also write a list of the characteristics of a good scenographer and a good set designer. We will also consider why the stage of the Royal Theatre can be called a proscenium stage, and at the end, we will unleash our imagination and creativity: we will design and build our stages with flat decorations inspired by the set of Marianna Oklejak.
The workshops are intended for children aged 7 to 12.
