PREMIERE PERFORMANCE OF KRZESIMIR DĘBSKI’S OPERA JOB

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Fifteen years ago, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland established Pope John Paul II Day on 16th October. This year’s celebration has gained even more significance, as we also celebrate the 100th birthday anniversary of the Polish Pope. On this occasion, the Polish Royal Opera is happy to invite you to the premiere performace of Krzesimir Dębski’s opera – Job, whose libretto was based on young Karol Wojtyła’s drama of the same title.

Commissioned by the Polish Royal Opera, this work will be a concert version presented within the walls of the Temple of Divine Providence in Warsaw on 16th October at 19.00.

It is significant that this opera premiere, which had primarily been planned for may 2020, was rescheduled due to the pandemic. Perhaps these difficulties will, however, strengthen the universal message of the work. After all, as the composer emphasizes: It is “an opera […] about the fate of a human being who has fallen into misfortunes and finds the way out of them”.

Tickets are already available. We hope you will enjoy the concert!
