JOIN US AT THE 3RD FESTIVAL IN TEMPORE REGUM. MUSIC OF THE TIME OF KINGS

Ladies and Gentlemen, On Thursday, the 26th of September 2024, the 3rd FESTIVAL IN TEMPORE REGUM. MUSIC IN THE TIME OF KINGS will begin. During six autumn evenings, the historic spaces of Warsaw will be filled with the music of old masters from Poland and abroad, which resounded in royal Poland in the 17th and 18th centuries. The program of the inauguration will include vocal and instrumental works by two leading figures of the Baroque era – Antonio Vivaldi and Johann Sebastian Bach. The works of the famous cantor from Leipzig, who in 1736 received the title of Royal Polish and Electoral Saxon Composer, will also resound during the finale of this exceptional music festival. On that occasion, we will also hear Conductus funebris by Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki, one of the most outstanding Polish composers of the Baroque era. The sophisticated music will be interpreted by excellent soloists, the Chorus, Chamber Choir, and Period Instruments Ensemble of the Polish Royal Opera Capella Regia Polona, conducted by outstanding experts in early music. During vocal and instrumental concerts, the musicians will perform under the music direction of Krzysztof Garstka (26.09.2024), Martyna Pastuszka (29.09.2024), Jakub Burzyński (4.10.2024), Lilianna Stawarz (5.10.2024), and Andrzej Kosendiak (13.10.2024). The Festival program will also include works for a cappella choir – works by Italian bandmasters active at the Polish court will be presented by the Chamber Choir led by Renata Szczypior (11.10.2024).
