WORLD PREMIERE OF MICHAŁ DOBRZYŃSKI’S OPERA HI§TORY IN THE CALENDAR OF THE YEAR OF GOMBROWICZ

Ladies and Gentlemen, The Senate of the Republic of Poland has declared 2024 the Year of Witold Gombrowicz in connection with the 120th anniversary of the writer’s birth. The calendar of celebrations includes the world premiere of the opera HI§TORY / MICHAŁ DOBRZYŃSKI. The work was commissioned by the Polish Royal Opera, and the composer developed the libretto based on manuscripts (including previously unpublished fragments) of the drama Historia (Operetta) by Witold Gombrowicz. The world premiere will take place on 23 November 2024 at the Royal Theatre in the Royal Łazienki Museum in Warsaw. We are very pleased to inform you that this event has been granted the honorary patronage of the Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, Mrs. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska.
