Ladies and Gentlemen,
This Friday we will be celebrating National Independence Day. On this occasion, we not only rejoice in the freedom regained by Poland 104 years ago, but also feel proud of the rich heritage of our national culture. Artists of the Polish Royal Opera will celebrate this anniversary in a special way – by popularizing Polish compositions abroad.
On the 11th of November, during the CONCERT OF POLISH MUSIC, beautiful pieces by Henryk Wieniawski and Karol Szymanowski conducted by maestro Dawid Runtz will be performed at the Philharmonic in Zagreb. The solo parts will be performed by musicians of the Polish Royal Opera – the concertmaster of our orchestra, Tomasz Kulisiewicz, and the excellent tenor Sylwester Smulczyński, accompanied by the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ivan Goran Kovačić Academic Choir. It is worth emphasizing that the music from Karol Szymanowski’s Harnasie ballet, inspired by the folklore of Podhale, will be heard on the Zagreb stage for the first time in history!
