Ladies and Gentlemen,
The triumphant and radiant masterpiece by Marc-Antoine Charpentier crowned the final concert, and thus the entire 4th BAROQUE FESTIVAL OF THE POLISH ROYAL OPERA – FRENCH MUSIC. That same evening – alongside the aforementioned Te Deum – the audience heard the motet by Michel-Richard Delalande, dazzling in its variety of musical colors, as well as the inspiring suite by Marin Marais. The richness of harmony and the complexity of the French musical style could also be admired during three performances of the rarely staged opera TITON ET L’AURORE by Jean-Joseph de Mondonville, directed by Natalia Babińska and under the musical direction of Krzysztof Garstka, specially prepared for this musical celebration. Meanwhile, the magic and elegance of the works of French harpsichord composers were presented by Maciej Skrzeczkowski, who, during the concert GALANTERIES FRANÇAISES, performed pieces by such masters as Louis Couperin, François Couperin, and Jean-Philippe Rameau.
We would like to thank all the Artists for the many unforgettable experiences and emotions, and the Audience for so warmly receiving our selection of repertoire.
We are also grateful to the French Institute in Poland for granting its Honorary Patronage to the 4th BAROQUE FESTIVAL OF THE POLISH ROYAL OPERA – FRENCH MUSIC.
