Meeting with INSPIRATION: Imagination, or the paintings in our head / WORKSHOP FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN (6+) | CLOSED EVENT

3 September 2025, Wednesday
Time 16:00
ORLEN Administration Center building, Chemików 7, Płock

Where do ideas come from? From the head, of course. But for them to get there, you need something magical: inspiration. It’s a spark that ignites our imagination and allows us to be creative. It can be a fairy tale we read, a landscape seen through a window, or an exotic scent smelled on a long journey. You can also be inspired by an ordinary moment with someone close, a feeling, or a melody. During the workshop, you will learn what inspired two French composers – Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel, for whom imagination was particularly important. Both also created program pieces, that is, pieces that illustrate something and tell a story. We will listen to excerpts from their works in Joachim Linckelmann’s arrangement for wind quintet – can you guess what they depict? How far will our imagination take us? The sounds of the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and French horn, together with the storytelling, may inspire us to create our own “images of imagination.”

The workshops are intended for children aged 6 and over.
