He became known as an excellent composer, organist, publisher and teacher, and his numerous textbooks &#8211; musical methods for various instruments &#8211; give contemporary researchers and musicians insight into the performance practice of that time. He was the first French composer to wrote concertos for wind instruments and organ, finding inspiration in the music of Haendel. The catalog of his works includes almost all genres of vocal and instrumental music practiced at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His most famous works include a series of twenty-five concertos known as&nbsp;<em>Concertos Comiques<\/em>. Corrette published the first six in 1733 (<em>Six concertos comiques pour 3 flutes, hautbois, ou violons avec la basse, oeuvre 8<\/em>), and the next ones appeared as they were created in the following decades. Performed during the intermissions of outdoor musical comedies, they delighted and entertained the audience.
