Bass. Graduate of the Vocal and Acting Faculty of Stanis\u0142aw Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gda\u0144sk in the class of Prof. Leszek Skrla. Pawe\u0142 recently graduated with honors from the Master\u2019s degree course in the class of Dr. hab. Robert Gierlach at the Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He began his musical journey in the Polish National Youth Choir, with which he sang in Poland and abroad during many international festivals, such as Wratislavia Cantans. Their repertoire included K. Szymanowski\u2019s Stabat Mater<\/i>, Symphony No. 3 \u2013 Song of the Night<\/i>, F. Mendelssohn\u2019s Symphony No. 2 in B-flat major<\/i> \u201dLobgesang\u201d op. 52, or G. Mahler\u2019s Symphony No. 8<\/i> \u201cSymphony of a Thousand\u201d. He also performed at the Portuguese Summer Choral Festival in Lisbon and the concert The Dream of Gerontius<\/i> conducted by Paul McCreesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the stage of the Academy of Music in Gda\u0144sk, he sang the solo parts in such works as H. H. Jab\u0142o\u0144ski\u2019s Nec temere, nec timide<\/i>, S. Moniuszko\u2019s Litanie Ostrobramskie<\/i>, and W. A. Mozart\u2019s Requiem<\/i>. Equally noteworthy is Michalczuk’s performance in the production of R. Wagner\u2019s opera Tannh\u00e4user<\/i> during the 20th Krak\u00f3w Opera Summer Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The artist\u2019s cooperation with the Baltic Opera began already when he was an undergraduate student. That is where he gained stage experience, singing in G. Verdi\u2019s Otello<\/i> and Nabucco<\/i>, as well as in S. Moniuszko\u2019s Straszny dw\u00f3r<\/i> (\u201cThe Haunted Manor\u201d). During this period, Michalczuk performed the solo parts in such opera productions as \u015aci\u0105ga z opery<\/i> (\u201cOpera Cheat Sheet\u201d, as M\u00e9phistoph\u00e9l\u00e8s from Ch. Gounod\u2019s Faust<\/i>), Opera Tu! Tu!<\/i> (Sko\u0142uba from S. Moniuszko\u2019s Straszny dw\u00f3r<\/i>), S. Moniuszko\u2019s Verbum Nobile<\/i> (as Serwacy), and the world premiere of K. Knittel\u2019s S\u0105d Ostateczny<\/i> (\u201cThe Final Judgment\u201d, as Tsar Peter the Great). On the stage of the \u015awi\u0119tokrzyska Philharmonic, he played the part of Kru\u0161ina in B. Smetana\u2019s The Bartered Bride<\/i>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In July 2018 he gave a recital of Chopin\u2019s songs in Paris, at the Chopin au Jardin festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For 3 years, he\u2019s been an active member of the Chorakademie L\u00fcbeck, an international ensemble of promising soloists, with which he gives concerts in Europe and all over the world. The repertoire of the ensemble includes Mozart\u2019s Great Mass in C minor<\/i> (performed at Rheingau Musik Festival in 2017), the world premiere of Tan Dun\u2019s Buddha Passion<\/i> (at the Dresdner Musikfestspiele, New Vision Art Festival in Hong Kong, and during a tourn\u00e9e in continental China), concerts and recording of R. Wagner\u2019s G\u00f6tterd\u00e4mmerung <\/i>in Hong Kong, and the performance of Z. Kod\u00e1ly\u2019s Psalmus Hungaricus<\/i> in Alte Oper Frankfurt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In April 2019, he made his debut on the stage of the Polish Royal Opera as Dameta in A. Scarlatti\u2019s Scene Buffe<\/i>, which marked the beginning of his collaboration with the Institution during which he performed lead roles as Leporello in W.A. Mozart’s Don Giovanni, <\/em>Garibaldo in G.F. Haendel’s Rodelinda <\/em>or Uberto in La serva padrona<\/em> by G.B.
