ONLINE CONCERT – A TRIBUTE TO HETMAN ZAMOYSKI

Opublikowano:

November – the time of solemn celebrations of Poland finally regaining its independence… It is also a month of reflection and remembering those who, throughout the ages, have shaped the meaning of the word “Fatherland” through their heroic deeds and dedication. Long November evenings are enveloped in the aura of the past centuries, which resonate most strongly in the historical sound of early instruments and songs.

Therefore, on Saturday, the 28th of November at 19:00 we invite you to an online concert entitled A TRIBUTE TO HETMAN ZAMOYSKI. The recording will be available on the YouTube channel of the Polish Royal Opera until 19:00 on Tuesday, December 1st 2020. Works from bygone eras will be performed by the Chorus of the Polish Royal Opera and the Period Instruments Ensemble of the Polish Royal Opera Capella Regia Polona. The musicians will be led by the outstanding conductor Lilianna Krych.

The program of the event, prepared specially for this year’s celebration of the National Independence Day, includes magnificent Old Polish music arranged by Jacek Urbaniak. We will hear the historic song cycle Pieśni Kalliopy Słowieńskiej na teraźniejsze pod Byczyną zwycięstwo composed by Krzysztof Klabon to the words of Stanisław Grochowski, written in praise of the sweeping victory of the Polish troops under the command of Hetman Jan Zamoyski in 1588. It will also be an opportunity to listen to not only early Polish anthems, the psalms of Mikołaj Gomółka and the song Piosnka uczyniona czasu powietrza, kiedy było interregnum w roku pańskim 1572 by Sebastian Klonowic, but also the charming dances from the Tablature of Johannes de Lublin.
