Pianist. Graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, the piano class under Prof. Piotr Paleczny, Prof. Bronisława Kawalla, and Prof. Maja Nosowska.
He perfected his skills in collaboration with many acclaimed artists, such as: A. Jasiński, T. Shebanova, J. Sulikowski, D. Thai Son, B. Ringeissen, J. Rouvier, D. Kim, or V. Mierzhanov.
Trzaskowski is a laureate of many Polish and International piano contests, e.g. in Jelenia Góra (1999), Piotrków Trybunalski (2000), Narva (2004), Łódź (2004), or the Fryderyk Chopin Polish Piano Competition (2005), and the Estrada Młodych (“The Youth Stage”) as part of the Polish Piano Festival in Słupsk (2007). In 2005, he was awarded the special award at the 15th International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
Between 2000 and 2005 Trzaskowski was qualified for the outstandingly gifted help programme organized by the Polish Children Fund. He received scholarships from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2000, 2004, 2005, 2009, 2010). In 2006 and 2013, he received scholarships from the Marshal of the Podlasie Voivodship, and in 2007 – from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the Młoda Polska (“The Young Poland”) programme.
As a soloist he performed under: J. Maksymiuk, E. Hoetzl, T. Chachaj, T. Tokarczyk, Z. Rychert, K. Urbański, or T. Wojciechowski. He’s given performances on the most important world and European stages in Japan, China, South Korea, India, USA, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Norway, Russia, etc.
The pianist opened the celebrations of the Chopin Year in the prestigious Konzerthaus in Berlin (he honoured the culmination of the festivities at the Auditorio di Milano), where together with Adam Makowicz they gave a series of concerts Chopin na klasycznie i jazzowo (“The Classic and Jazz Chopin”). Trzaskowski also performed during the concert Polska Fryderyka Chopina i Epoki Romantyzmu (“The Poland of Frederic Chopin and the Romanticism”), organized by the British Embassy in Warsaw on the occasion of the visit of Their Royal Highnesses – the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall to Poland. To commemorate the 200th anniversary of Chopin’s birth, he’s taught master classes in India and recorded a CD Chopin for India. In 2017, he was a juror at the prestigious Manhattan International Music Competition at Carnegie Hall in New York. He recorded for the Polish Radio and Television.
Currently, Krzysztof Trzaskowski is a PhD student and lecturer at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and a pianist-tutor of the Polish Royal Opera.
